Why create this blog?
I have decided to open a blog in order to show some of my origami creations, but I will also post on very ecclectic subject, such as culture, tourism, fashion, languages, sports, anything that I am interested in.
For instance, I'd like to share some travel tips, some good adresses that I've been to, or books I liked, music, and so on.
Although French is my mother tongue, I will be writing in English, since more people speak this language around the world. Sorry fellow Frenchmen, it's just that simple... I love France anyway!
No politics on this blog...
Why this name "Qannialaaq"?
It's the Inuktitut word for "Light falling snow". Inuktitut is the language spoken by the Inuits who live in Northern Canada. As I hold both French and Canadian nationalities, I feel attracted to anything that concerns these countries.
I think it's very important to keep local culture and languages alive, that's why my small contribution to this is to name this blog with an Inuktitut word. By the way, "Qannialaaq" is just one of the many ways to translate the word "snow"...
I have chosen the light falling snow because to me, watching snow fall slowly is always a great spectacle.
Enjoy the reading!
